Established in 2015 by Pastor Tommy and the Asbury United Methodist Church, the garden produces food for neighbors and give east side Flint residents an opportunity to grow for sale. The garden is currently run by Terry and Blair, both of whom have a long history of gardening on the east side of Flint having worked on additional project like the Peace Mob Garden and assisting other gardeners in the area. Terry is also an edible flint Neighborhood Ambassador and acts as a garden mentor to Flint residents during the growing season. In addition to growing the produce found in edible flint's veggie kits, the garden has fruit trees and grape vines in the same area as the hoophouse.
The future of the Asbury United Methodist Church garden is to expand to 5 hoophouses and utilize the vacant lots on the east side of Flint for food production.
