Enhance quality and productivity of food gardens.
History
The edible flint Garden Starters work group was formed to provide the community with the skills and resources to grow fresh, healthy food in an urban setting. The Garden Starters Training Program, originally called the edible flint Introduction to Urban Food Gardening, was developed to provide participants with the basic information necessary to establish and maintain a food producing garden. The Garden Starter Kits and Services Program coordinates the packaging and delivery of vegetable seeds, transplants, compost, tilling and soil testing.
Garden Starters work group meetings are held:
2nd Thursdays from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at The Library (upstairs), 1026 E. Kearsley St., Flint, Michigan 48502.
4th Tuesdays from 10:00am – 12:00 pm at The Lunch Studio, 444 S. Saginaw, Flint, MI 48502
